PAT GARRETT
.  Pat Garrett (1850–1908) was a New Mexico lawman who killed his former gambling partner, the fabled outlaw Billy the Kid, in 1881.  In 1901, he was appointed customs collector in El Paso, Texas where he served for five years before retiring.  Garrett was fatally ambushed near Las Cruces.  His suspected murderer, Jim ‘Deacon’ Miller, was never brought to justice.
RARE ALABAMA GOLD AND COPPER MINING COMPANY STOCK CERTIFICATE SIGNED BY PAT GARRETT, THE FAMOUS LAWMAN WHO KILLED THE FABLED OUTLAW BILLY THE KID
Alabama Gold and Copper Mining Company certificate signed by, “P.F. Garrett,” as secretary and countersigned by, “J.M. Llewellyn,” as president issuing two hundred shares of capital stock to D.M. Goodrich.  The document is two pages with a fully intact gold seal affixed to the bottom left, measures 10.25” by 8”, signed in Jarilla, New Mexico on December 12, 1899, and in fine condition with a hole to the top left corner and minor evidence of mounting on the verso.
AN IDENTICAL STOCK CERTIFICATE SIGNED BY GARRETT SOLD FOR ,768 AT HERITAGE AUCTIONS IN JUNE 2012
Garrett’s signature is one of the most coveted of all Old West figures and a document such as this is of the utmost desirability.  An identical stock certificate signed by Garrett sold for ,768 at Heritage Auctions in June 2012.
